What this means is that on alternate days of the week.. such as Monday, Wednsday, Friday,  for example, you would eat very little carbs that day.  You would follow a low carb diet, use low carb bread, and eat mostly protein and vegetables and no cheating with treats!  &lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt; &lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;But this works because, you also know, that on the other days of the week, you get to eat all those things, so you don't feel like you are missing out! I need to lose body weight, 14 pounds to be exact before I get to my goal weight!  I need to lose it from all over..  But guess what?  I have discovered a little secret that will lose body weight fast, or at least get you off that plateau.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I call it "rearranging your day"  Ever heard the saying "Eat like a king for breakfast, a queen for lunch and a pauper for dinner"?  This means eat most of your calories in the early part of the day.   I have been having a bigger lunch and a smaller dinner, and not missing food at all.   I decided last week to switch it up a bit, and it is working!  I am still eating the same calories.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I guess I get a chance to burn off any extra calories, by eating my bigger meal at lunch.  I finally got that scale to move a couple of pounds, hopefully it keeps going.  To lose body weight this close to your goal gets hard! Not your waist, and not your hips, but half way between them.  I have this one stubborn roll there, or if I feel bloated, or eat too much salt the day before, this is where is shows.  I have lost everywhere else.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I do see a &lt;span id="SPELLING_ERROR_1" class="blsp-spelling-corrected"&gt;dietitian&lt;/span&gt;, and that is EXACTLY where she measures me!  So, I could have lost inches all over my body, but if I don't lose anything there, she counts this as unsuccessful!  I try to tell her, that I am rearranging my body, but until I lose something from there, I am still not at my goal.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I am seriously considering stopping going there, because as nice as she is, I don't feel that one and only measurement should be the gauge to my success.  I have not been losing much more weight, but with going to curves 3 times a week, I am changing my body composition. I need to lose about 10 more pounds. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I did join curves earlier this year, and have noticed a difference in my shape and feel better.  I invested in some good running shoes, and am now adding jogging to my daily exercise... She asked me to keep a food diary, and then she asked which grocery store I shop at.  She then started "replacing" some of my foods.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;For example:  The bread I was eating was this healthy flax seed bread but it was 230 calories for 2 slices.  She had me change the bread to a different brand at 170 calories for 2 slices.  I hardly noticed the change.  But that takes care of 60 calories.  She then showed me the size of peanut butter I SHOULD be using etc... and switch out my cookies for "social tea cookies"  and I managed to get myself down to 187 pounds fairly quickly.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;But then she told me to add some exercise, and with my son being very much into fitness, I used his universal weight machine, and was doing a routine Mon, Wed, and Fridays, increasing my walks to 4km a day when I could, and I took up swimming again at the local pool. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;At my last weigh in, I was proud of my new program and felt great, muscles were actually looking sexy, but I got on the scale and I was UP TWO POUNDS!.  We both looked dismayed, but then she did my measurements and I had lost 1.5 inches around my gut.  So don't despair if you work out, you can gain muscle weight. My doctor looked at me and said "your blood pressure is a wee bit high, and you cholesterol is borderline and you could stand to lose a few pounds around the middle"&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt; &lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;She said it with a smile, and at first it didn't register, but then it did, and I knew I had to do something about it now.   I didn't want to take meds yet, and therefore she sent me to a dietician to see what we could do with my diet.  I knew what I was suppose to eat! ..  But after that first appointment, I was glad I went, she battles weight just like me, and was realistic about my goals.  &lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt; &lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;She sized me up at 5'9" (I used to be 5'10" must have shrunk!) and 194 pounds, she wanted 30 pounds gone, which made me choke, but then she said, lets do it slowly at a rate of 2 pounds per month.
